Short Term Accommodation – STA

Taking a break from a carer’s role can help you restore your energy, reduce stress and keep your life in balance. Whether it’s a few hours a week to run errands, or time to take a holiday, our friendly Disability Support Workers can provide help and support either at home or out and about while you and your Carer enjoy a well-earned break.

Our aim is to ensure you feel relaxed and stress-free while taking a break from your carer’s role. Whether it’s assisting your loved ones with daily tasks, taking them to appointments, or spending time with them in activities they enjoy, our experienced Disability Support Workers will care for your loved ones in a kind and considerate way, giving you peace of mind.

Oasis Home Care Services has several recognised services that can be used to support your Respite needs, talk to our experienced Customer Care Managers who can help design and plan for you.

Term Accommodation

Oasis provides respite services short term accommodation (or otherwise known as STA; accessible for short periods of time (up to 14 days).

STA supports participants to engage in a range of activities and develop new skills while providing you with the opportunity to take a break from everyday life and spend time enjoying activities and achieving your goals.

What does this include?

  • A period of respite
  • Includes all expenses in a 24-hour period and includeing assistance with self-care or community access, accommodation, food and negotiated activities
  • Included in Core Budget of the person’s NDIS plan

  • Have a chat with our support team

  • We will structure the STA location, activities and suitable support workers around your interests and needs

  • Leave it up to us to organise!

NDIS Medium Term Accommodation (MTA) is housing that you can stay in for up to 90 days. It might be an in-between solution if you’ve been in hospital or rehab and need some extra care before returning home.

Participants who want to see if Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) or Supported Independent Living (SIL) is a good long term option can also benefit from Medium Term Accommodation.

What does this include?

MTA funding is generally used for following individuals

  • waiting home modifications to be done
  • leaving hospital, aged care, or a custodial setting
  • experiencing a breakdown of supports and can’t live in their current home
  • waiting for a vacancy to become available in the place where they want to live, and they have an offer for this place
  • waiting for new build SDA to be ready, and they have an offer for this SDA

Community Participation

Keeping socially active is an important part of your routine and at Oasis Home Care Services we support socialisation. Whether you want to participate in local activities like music gigs or shows or focus on your volunteer activities supporting the community we have you covered. Our social development programme helps you build skills as well as provides you with transport and accessibility

Your social and sporting activities are important to you and it is important to us that we get you there as well as give you physical and emotional support to stay involved. We recognise your community volunteer participation as part of your full time or part time role in your community and cultural diversity is both supported and welcomed.

Domestic Assistance / Assisted Daily Living

Spending time on your favourite hobby or entertaining friends and family can make time spent at home much more enjoyable. Oasis Home Care Services can help by making things easy so you can continue to live independently at home while doing more of the things you love.

Our aim is to ensure your home is cared for just the way you like it. Whether it’s changing your bedsheets, mopping the floor, or walking your dog, our friendly Disability Support Workers will help you get chores done around your home so you can enjoy a clean and tidy house and feel comfortable in your home.

Meal Preparation and more

Regular or occasional assistance with household duties will ensure your home is safe and well-maintained and give you more time to spend on activities you enjoy. Our team is highly experienced in mobility and accessibility and will provide tailor-made services to best suit what you want, whilst bringing in new ideas to continually improve your personal environment.

Lawn Maintenance & Cleaning Services

Oasis can handle diverse cleaning requirements for residential premises. If you are looking for a regular house cleaning, bathroom cleaning, kitchen cleaning, or bedroom and living areas cleaning, our team have the mettle to deliver a thorough house cleaning service.

As with cleaning, lawn maintenance can become a hassle to manage. Oasis can provide upkeep with ongoing scheduled lawn maintenance, just contact our team today!

Oasis Home Care Services provides flexible, customised domestic cleaning services, along with general gardening (enquire for service areas pertaining gardening).

Our fees are all aligned with NDIS price guidelines.

Not everyone has similar circumstances and requirements, therefore we aim to provide service which can be tailored to meet your needs and give you the best value for your money.

Capacity Building

Capacity Building funds are often used to support and build upon long-term independence. There are a wide range of different activities under this support and allows you to access flexible, understanding and personalised care to ensure you can achieve your goals. Here are just some of the goals and activities that you could try using your Capacity Building funds for:

  • Job finding
  • Travelling on public transport or in a taxi
  • Cleaning the house
  • Cooking meals
  • Handling money
  • Managing personal care
  • Participating in recreational activities (I.e. Sports, Art and more)
  • Social skills and confidence building (I.e. Group activities with your peers)

Early Childhood Early Intervention – ECEI

ECEI works with children aged 0-6 by supporting their families to help and develop the children’s skills of participating in daily activities in order to achieve the best possible outcomes throughout their life. ECEI supports and promotes the wellbeing, development and community engagement of children through a family-centred approach.

Frequently asked questions

Why do you need my Plan details when I select “Start my Supports”?

We aim to make the onboarding process for our participants as quick and easy as we possibly can, the more information you are able to provide to us at first contact, will allow us to have a support worker attending to your needs in as little as 48 business hours (pending availability in your location)

What if I don’t have an NDIS Plan?

If you do not have an NDIS Plan, but you think you might be eligible, give us a call and one of our friendly team members will help you determine eligibility and support you to understand what is needed to make an access request for NDIS support.

Do you support self or privately funded customers?

YES WE DO! We can also support customers with other types of funding such as workcover, accident insurance, & department of child safety. These types of funders may have approval processes for support providers so we will need to contact these funders prior to starting your service. We are happy to discuss this in further detail if you are unsure about these options

Do you support all Ages, Cultural Backgrounds and all types of Disability?

Yes, our Support workers come from all walks of life with experience in supporting different age groups, and cultures (with some being multilingual) and supporting various disabilities.

Can I have a Support Worker Overnight or on Public Holidays?

Yes our Support Staff work on rotating schedules and we always have Supports available 24/7 including public holidays.

What if I don’t think my Support Worker is the right fit for me?

That’s OK! Sometimes personalities don’t match, if you feel that we have mismatched you with someone, let us know and we will arrange a meet & greet with another suitable Support worker.
